The ZipWall Heavy Duty Self Adhesive Zipper creates a walk-through entry point in plastic dust barriers without cutting the sheeting first. Each pack contains two zippers, two flap hooks, and one ZipperKnife sheeting cutter. The self-adhesive backing presses directly onto the sheeting surface — once applied, the ZipperKnife cuts cleanly along the zipper as it opens, creating a doorway in seconds.

About Zipwall Heavy Duty Self Adhesive Zipper - 2pk
The ZipWall HDAZ2 is a self-adhesive zipper that creates a walk-through entry in a plastic dust barrier. You press the zipper onto the uncut sheeting, then use the included ZipperKnife to cut the plastic as you open the zipper for the first time. The zipper seals the barrier completely when closed and opens cleanly on every subsequent pass.
The heavy duty version uses a wider all-fabric tape backing and a more aggressive adhesive than the standard zipper. This makes it better suited to high-traffic access points, outdoor environments, and barriers that will be opened and closed many times a day. If the access point sees light or occasional use, the standard zipper is sufficient.
The ZipperKnife is a purpose-built sheeting cutter that cuts the plastic barrier along the zipper as you open it for the first time. It double-cuts the sheeting to leave a clean edge on both sides, which prevents the plastic from jamming in the zipper teeth on subsequent opens and closes.
The self-adhesive backing bonds to most plastic sheeting films used in dust containment systems, including clear polythene, ZipWall Protecta Sheet, and translucent barrier film. The sheeting surface must be clean and dry for the adhesive to bond correctly.
Apply one zipper to each side of the doorway opening on the sheeting, positioned so the two zippers meet in the centre when both are closed. Open both zippers to create a full-width entry, roll up the flap, and hold it clear with the included flap hooks for unobstructed access. Close both zippers to reseal the barrier.
The zipper mechanism opens and closes cleanly for the life of the barrier install. The self-adhesive backing is a single-use application — the zipper stays in place on the sheeting until the barrier comes down. Once removed, the zipper is not designed to be re-adhered to new sheeting.
Yes. The heavy duty zipper is effective in temperatures down to 0°C. For cold temperature applications, ZipWall recommends attaching the zipper to the sheeting at 10°C or above when possible to ensure the best initial adhesive bond.
