Fire Retardant Containment Mesh 1.9m x 10m x Black

SKU: 6210-FRCM1910BK

$295.00 + GST

Fire Retardant Containment Mesh Black encloses scaffolding from the inside and stops falling debris and dust from reaching workers and the public below. Standard debris mesh is a fire risk wherever hot works like welding or grinding happen nearby: a stray spark can catch synthetic netting and let a fire spread fast up the scaffold. This mesh uses a fire retardant additive that self-extinguishes rather than feeding a flame, so it can be used on sites where hot works are underway. The tight 460gsm weave still blocks debris and dust without sealing the scaffold off completely. Each roll covers 1.9m x 10m and weighs around 14kg, light enough for one person to handle and fit. It cuts and shapes easily around scaffold framing, and can be reused on multiple jobs once checked for structural integrity between uses. Scaffolders and site managers use it on sites where hot works rule out standard containment netting, or wherever extra fire protection is specified.

Benefits

  • Cuts labour time on install and dismantle compared to wire-tied containment systems
  • No wire involved, so there's no tangling or laceration risk during installation
  • Lighter than traditional chain and shade cloth containment systems
  • Fire retardant additive self-extinguishes rather than feeding a flame near hot works
  • Reusable across multiple jobs once checked for structural integrity between uses
  • Cuts and shapes easily around scaffold framing and awkward junctions
  • Rolls up tight for one-person transport and storage between jobs
  • Blocks debris and dust while still allowing some airflow through the weave

Main Applications

  • Enclosing scaffolding on sites where welding, grinding or other hot works are underway
  • Containing falling tools and debris on general building and construction sites
  • Reducing wind loading on scaffold sheeting on exposed or high-rise sites
  • Screening scaffold work from public view on street-facing or occupied sites
  • Protecting heritage or leaky-home remediation projects where extended containment is required

About Fire Retardant Containment Mesh

How to install

Fire Retardant Containment Mesh

  1. Stand the roll upright at the start of the bay, ready to unroll along the scaffold face.
  2. Fix the mesh to at least three points on the scaffold before unrolling further, so the rest of the install runs fast and stays under control.
  3. Roll the mesh out to the midpoint of the bay and tie it to the top rail.
  4. Continue rolling to the next standard, fixing it with another three points of contact.
  5. Tie off the rest of the mesh to the inside of the scaffold structure as you go.
  6. Repeat bay by bay until the full section is enclosed.
  7. To remove, take off every tie except the ones on the top rail, then roll the mesh up from the bottom, releasing each remaining tie as you reach it.
  8. Secure the rolled mesh with ties before moving it, and store it out of the sun rather than flat, creased or squashed.
