Tie Wire is 1.6mm black wire cut to 400mm lengths for tying reinforcing bar intersections by hand. Loose rebar shifts during a concrete pour, throwing cover depth and bar spacing out before the pour even starts. Twisting a length of tie wire around each intersection locks the cage together so it holds its position under wet concrete and foot traffic. The extra length over the 300mm bundle gives more wire to work with on thicker bar or double-layer mats, and each 1kg bundle holds enough for tying a typical cage without unwinding from a full coil. 20 bundles come to a carton for restocking a site store. Steel fixers and concreters use it wherever rebar mats and cages need securing before a pour, from slabs and footings to precast panels.

About 400mm Tie Wire x 1.6mm
It's used to tie reinforcing bar intersections by hand, locking rebar cages and mats in position before a concrete pour.

The extra length gives more wire to work with per tie, useful on thicker bar or double-layer mats where a 300mm length runs short.
This 400mm tie wire has a black finish. A galvanised 400mm version is also available for extra corrosion resistance.
