Description
Self Tapping Timber Tek Screw 14G x 90mm is a Type 17 hex head screw for fixing timber to timber without pre-drilling. The Type 17 point cuts its own pilot hole as the screw is driven, so one tool does the drilling and the fastening. The full thread grips along the whole length of the shank, and the hex head takes a driver or nutsetter for solid torque in framing and formwork timber.
Each pack holds 200 screws and weighs 3.5kg. At 90mm long, the screw suits joining thicker framing members and fixing through packers into the timber behind. Powerpac also stocks the same 14G Type 17 screw in lengths from 35mm to 150mm. The screw is listed for external use. Known on NZ sites as a T17 screw or timber tek, the Self Tapping Timber Tek Screw is bought by builders and formworkers fixing timber on residential and commercial jobs.
