SKU: 6132-SSDBKIT6
The Site Shield Dust Barrier Pole Kit gives you six spring-loaded telescoping poles that extend from 1.2 to 3.8 metres, two heavy-duty self-adhesive zips, and a carry bag. Set the poles between floor and ceiling, stretch polythene sheeting between them, and you've got a temporary dust barrier wall in minutes. No tape, no ladders, no damage to the ceiling.
The spring-loaded heads compress against the ceiling and hold the polythene in place with non-skid, non-marking grip pads top and bottom. One person can set up the whole run. The zips are stuck on after the polythene is up, then slit through to create an entry point you can open and close without losing the seal.
Six poles cover roughly 12 metres of straight barrier, or a three-sided room-within-a-room with two poles to spare. That's enough for most commercial fitouts, hotel refurbs, school holiday works, or a full painter's enclosure. For shorter runs and smaller jobs the 4-pole kit (6132-SSDBKIT4) is the lighter option.
This is the kit that goes on a job where someone else is still using the space. Painters containing overspray when adjacent rooms are staffed. Gib stoppers and flooring crews working a hotel corridor at night. Restoration teams on mould and water damage. Asbestos crews in occupied office floors. Anywhere dust escaping into the rest of the building is not an option.
What's in the box: 6 poles, 2 zips, 1 carry bag. Polythene sheeting is sold separately — most jobs run the Site Shield Clear Polythene (6131-CPS425020 for 25m, 6131-CPS450 for 50m). Extra dust barrier zips (6132-DBZK) let you add more doorways. For a reusable zip-door panel that clips into the polythene, look at the Zipwall ZipDoor (ZD37). For floor protection in the same space, Bruteboard (6131-BB221205) sits naturally alongside this kit.

About Site Shield - Dust Barrier Pole Kit
Polythene sheeting. The kit gives you poles, zips and a bag, but not the plastic that forms the actual barrier. Most jobs use the Site Shield Clear Polythene 4m × 25m (6131-CPS425020) or 4m × 50m (6131-CPS450). That's it — nothing else needed for a standard barrier.
Roughly 12 metres of straight wall if you space the poles every 2 metres, which is the practical max. You can also use six poles to build a three-sided room-within-a-room with two left over, or two separate barriers in different rooms.
No. The spring-loaded heads use non-skid, non-marking pads. They press against the ceiling firmly enough to hold the barrier in place, but they don't scratch, mark or dent painted gib or acoustic tile. The same goes for the base pads on the floor.
Yes. That's the whole point of spring-loaded poles. You compress the head, position it floor to ceiling, release the spring, then move to the next one. Polythene goes up with the poles. No ladder, no second person holding plastic while you tape.
Three things. Faster — a full barrier goes up in minutes, not the better part of an hour. No damage — taped plastic pulls paint off and leaves residue. Reusable — the poles fold back into the carry bag and come with you to the next job, where taping plastic gives you nothing to take away.
This kit tops out at 3.8m. For taller ceilings — commercial atriums, warehouses, anything above a standard office or residential height — talk to our team about the Zipwall Spring Loaded Poles (ZIPST2) which extend to 6.1m.
Yes. The poles, carry bag and grip pads are designed for repeat use across multiple jobs. The zips are self-adhesive and single-use — they bond to the polythene when you put them up, and the polythene gets binned with the zips still attached when the job's done. Order extra zips (6132-DBZK) to keep on hand.
Six is right for full-room enclosures, longer runs and crews running multiple barriers across a job. Four (6132-SSDBKIT4) is the lighter option for smaller jobs, shorter runs and one-off rooms. Most fitout and refurb teams end up with the 6-pack because of the room-within-a-room flexibility.
Yes. Zip pole kit, spring loaded pole kit, dust barrier poles and containment pole kit are all names used for this category of product.
