SDS Plus Masonry Drill Bit 20mm x 450mm is a hammer-drill bit for drilling deep, large-diameter plug and fixing holes in concrete, masonry and stone. Reinforced concrete, natural stone and dense masonry blunt an ordinary bit quickly, and a bit that clogs with dust or wanders off-centre risks a badly placed fixing. This bit uses a TURBOHEAD Xpro full carbide head with a 4-cutting-edge design and a centering tip, so it starts precisely and cuts through reinforced concrete without wandering, even over its longer 450mm reach. The MS5 flute with a reinforced core clears drilling dust fast and resists the twisting and vibration forces of hammer drilling, giving the bit a longer service life. Chrome-nickel-molybdenum steel construction is shot-peened and hardened, with the carbide head brazed on at around 1,120°C for a bond that holds under heavy use. It fits directly into SDS-plus and HILTI TE-C drive hammer drills, and its low-vibration design meets the EU vibration protection directive for hand-arm safety. At 20mm diameter and 450mm long, this is the largest and longest bit in the SDS Plus masonry range, and tradies and concrete contractors reach for it wherever the deepest, heaviest-duty fixing holes are needed in artificial stone, masonry, natural stone or reinforced concrete.
