Site Shield - Safe Path Mat 1.2m x 10m x Black

SKU: 6131-SPM1210B

$290.00 + GST

Site Shield Safe Path Mat is designed to establish a clean, slip-resistant pedestrian walkway across high-traffic access and transition zones on construction sites. Supplied in a 1200mm x 10m roll at 13mm thickness, it covers 12 square metres per mat and deploys in minutes without tools.

Muddy boots, wet ground, and loose debris tracked from earthworks, concrete pours, or demolition activity create serious slip hazards and contamination risks — particularly at site entries, amenities blocks, site offices, and threshold zones leading into finished interior areas. Without effective pathway control, these conditions increase the risk of incidents and introduce unnecessary mess into clean work zones.

The open-fibre construction scrapes and retains mud, grit, and moisture underfoot rather than spreading it, keeping the surface beyond the mat cleaner with every pass. The 13mm pile provides cushioned, stable footing even under sustained heavy traffic. At 35kg, the roll can be repositioned by two people without lifting equipment. The black colouring aids visibility on site. Site managers and safety officers on commercial builds, civil infrastructure projects, and industrial sites specify the Safe Path Mat where contamination control and underfoot safety are both non-negotiable.

Benefits

  • Traps mud, grit, and moisture at the mat rather than allowing it to spread across clean walkways and finished surfaces
  • Creates a slip-resistant walking surface in wet and contaminated entry and transition zones
  • Covers 12 square metres per roll, reducing the number of mats required to protect extended pathways
  • Repositions quickly by two people without lifting equipment as site conditions or traffic routes change
  • Durable construction withstands sustained heavy foot traffic across the full project duration
  • Helps meet site safety obligations by addressing slip and contamination hazards at key pedestrian access points
  • Black colouring improves site visibility and supports clear pedestrian pathway delineation
  • Reusable across multiple project phases or sites, reducing ongoing consumable cost

Main Applications

  • Site entry and exit points where workers move between earthworks, concrete operations, or demolition areas and clean zones
  • Temporary pedestrian walkways through active construction zones on commercial, industrial, and civil projects
  • Transition routes between dirty and clean areas, including approaches to site offices, lunchrooms, and amenities blocks
  • High-traffic corridors near concrete pours, formwork stripping, or earth-moving activity where mud tracking is a persistent hazard
  • Access paths across soft ground, gravel, or landscaped areas during structure and fitout works
  • Threshold protection at building entries and stairwells during interior fitout and pre-handover cleaning phases

About Site Shield - Safe Path Mat

How to install

Site Shield - Safe Path Mat

  1. Clear the intended path area of large debris, rocks, and loose material that could cause an uneven surface or create pressure points beneath the mat.
  2. Position the roll at one end of the walkway and unroll it along the intended path, keeping the mat aligned centrally over the pedestrian route.
  3. Adjust the mat so it covers the full width of the walking zone where possible, ensuring no significant gaps exist at the sides where contaminants can bypass the mat.
  4. Secure all edges and both ends using low-tac tape or heavy-duty mat tape on hard surfaces, or ground stakes along the perimeter on compacted earth or gravel.
  5. Press down any curling edges and re-tape firmly — lifted edges are a trip hazard and must be flat against the surface before the path is opened to foot traffic.
  6. Inspect the mat at regular intervals throughout use and clear accumulated mud or debris by shaking out or hosing down to maintain slip resistance and pile performance.
  7. To relocate the mat, remove all securing tape or stakes, roll the mat from one end, and carry between two people to the new location.
  8. When storing between project phases, ensure the mat is reasonably clean and dry before rerolling to prevent odour and deterioration in storage.
